Willem J Alberts

(1912 - 1990)

Alberts was born in Amsterdam in 1912, and he studied, lived and worked there until 1952 when he moved to Oldebroek in the Provence of Gelderland.

In 1963 he moved again to Wezep where he lives today. Alberts is a pupil of Minne Bakker.  He paints both in watercolours and oils, and is largely known for his landscape work, both woodland scenes and the typical meadows of his part of Holland, but he also sometimes paints church interiors, still life, flowers and animal pictures.

He is a member of the “Wending” art group of Zwolle.

Since 1974 Alberts work has also become well known in many other countries of Europe and America.
