Ernest Charles Walbourn (1871-1927)

Ernest Charles Walbourn was a British landscape painter of rural and farming scenes. His father, having owned estates in Australia initially disapproved of his artistic ambitions, but later helped with the setting up of a studio at the family home and the funding of his training.

In 1895 he settled in Essex and he started exhibiting at the Royal Academy where his paintings were widely admired. Many of his works were sold through W. W. Sampson & Louis Wolfe. He later married Eva Gardner who occasionally assisted him with his works.

He is best known for his charming English country scenes.
