Ludwig Hermann

(1812 – 1881)

Ludwig Hermann was born in Germany in April, 1812 in a town called Greifswald.

Hermann was best known for his urban landscapes, seascapes and architectural views. He lived in Berlin and had his first exhibition in 1850.

He was very much influenced by the artists of the Romantic School, such as Barend Cornelis Koekkoek.

Hermann enjoyed painting both winter and summer landscapes.
